St Nicholas and St Laurence Football Club

St Nicholas and St Laurence Football Club is run by Mr Puddick after school three days a week 3-4pm.

Monday for Years 5 and 6

Tuesday for Years 1 and 2

Wednesday for Years 3 and 4

The club’s development aims

Years 1 and 2: Introduce young children to football.

Years 3 and 4: Develop skills and introduce teamwork.

Years 5 and 6: Embed skills, teamwork and introduce tactics.

We will support players within the FA’s four corners of player development framework.

Technical and Tactical development will be underpinned by players Behaviour and Attitude as well as their Physical, Social and

Psychological development.

Competitions and Interschool matches are usually played in Year 3/4 and Year 5/6. Teams will be selected through the coaches’ assessment of the children’s footballing development and understanding, in conjunction with input from class teachers and also visual assessment from any organised interclass matches.

Interschool and interclass matches will attempt to be organised on the corresponding year groups training day. Notice will be given of these matches in advance to the children involved.
