Our Church School

St Nicholas and St Laurence Church of England Primary School has around 210 pupils arranged in seven classes who are supported by a dedicated, experienced, highly skilled team of teachers and enthusiastic support staff. They strive to raise standards and promote a calm, nurturing, purposeful but stimulating environment which makes learning exciting and enjoyable through a creative, innovative curriculum.

At the heart of all we do are our Christian values – love, resilience, perseverance, fellowship, compassion and hope. Everybody, staff and pupils alike, are encouraged and guided to be the best they can be and to aim high in all that they do.

St Nicholas and St Laurence Primary School is set in extensive grounds, off the Dorchester Road in Broadwey, Weymouth, Dorset. It is located on a campus with the Wey Valley Sports College and the Wyvern Specialist School. Facilities include a large hall, library, ICT suite, two playgrounds with a range of equipment. There is a fenced wildlife garden, forest school area, pond and a large playing field.

Our school enjoys very close links with all the churches within the parishes of Bincombe with Broadwey, Upwey and Buckland Ripers. We benefit from the advice and support of our local vicar, Phillip Elliott, and the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education.

A Christian approach is applied throughout the curriculum. Religious Education is a core curriculum subject and this reflects the Christian foundation of the school. An Act of Worship takes place in school every day, either as a whole school, classes or in small groups.

The secret of our success is summed up in our mission statement

“Inspire to Aspire”

“Life in all its fullness”

Our Happy Children
