Church school flourishing within our community

Easter Trail

Once again this year our children took part in an Easter trail around our local community. The hunt for clue cards took us through the events of Easter week and we heard again the story of Easter. Each clue card also gave us a different way of reflecting or thinking about the Easter story. The trail finished at the church where we were welcomed by Father Philip and given some much welcomed refreshments.

Resurrection Rock Concert

The end of the spring term brought us a huge treat in the Resurrection Rock Concert at St Laurence church, Upwey. The choir, the band and the collective worship team all worked together to produce an incredible show retelling the events of Holy Week. A big thank you to the incredibly talented Mrs Wakefield for putting the concert together and to the congregation at St Laurence church for the lovely refreshments and fundraising raffle. A fantastic evening was had by all those who went.

Year 3 at the Food Bank

Our amazing Year 3 class have spent the morning helping at our local food bank. They walked from school to St Francis church in Littlemoor to see the role that the church plays in supporting local community. The morning was then spent helping the volunteers at the food bank with sorting, organising and distributing food. The children worked really hard and their help was greatly appreciated.

Year 6 Humanist Visit

Year 6 were extremely fortunate to have a visit from David Warden from the Dorset Humanist Society. He spoke to us about his world view and what it means to him personally to be a humanist. Year 6 asked some really thoughtful questions and found the whole visit to be incredibly interesting.
