Year 5

Welcome to Year 5
Year 5 is an exciting and action-packed year where the Year 5 team work hard to provide a fun but rigorous education for your child within a nurturing environment.
In Year 5, children are encouraged to further develop their skills, and build on previous knowledge. As members of Upper Key Stage Two, they are expected to act as excellent role models for others in school by modelling and living our school values of Love, Hope, Compassion, Resilience, Perseverance and Fellowship.
We follow the National Curriculum for all subject areas. We are supported by many outside specialists for PE; we have basketball, gymnastics and tennis coaches to support our teaching and learning in Year 5. In addition, Year 5 continues to receive music and Spanish lessons from Miss Wakefield, a specialist teacher.
We hope that during their time in Year 5, where we have high expectations for achievement, all children will develop more confidence and perseverance in order to achieve these new skills within our nurturing environment.
Mr Sawyer and the Year 5 team encourage the students to be the best that they can be.
