Salisbury Cathedral and the Old Sarum
Year 4 have once again been absolutely fabulous! They sang and behaved beautifully at the iSingPop concert in the stunning Salisbury Cathedral. Afterwards, we took a drive over to Old Sarum Castle, where we explored the ancient grounds, including the remains of the old Salisbury Cathedral.
Thank you to the children for representing St Nics brilliantly.
Day 3 at Leeson House
Our final day at Leeson House has arrived. We had great fun ticking off some of our science learning objectives and learnt about the water cycle and made our own models. Then we enjoyed some time pond dipping and explored all the wonderful creatures in the pond. Finally, after lunch we said our goodbyes and set off on our journey back to school.
Miss Wilson would like to thank all the fabulous children for being amazing super stars and give a huge thank you to Mrs Hale, Mrs Scott and Mr Steve for all their amazing help and everything they did to make the trip a huge success for the children!
I am sure all adults and children will sleep very well tonight!
Day 2 in the big Leeson House!
What a beautiful day we have had! The children have been amazing and we have had great fun exploring Studland Beach, building sand models and scavenging washed up treasures on the shore before discovering the sand dunes and stopping for lunch and free time in the sand.
When we arrived back at the centre, we worked together to complete some team challenge activities, followed by some orienteering skills before and after dinner. Once we were ready for bed, we chilled in the lounge for another chapter of The Chronicles of Narnia and a small cup of hot chocolate.
It was another amazing day, with many more memories mades!
Year 4 Residential to Leeson House - Day 1
Year 4 arrived successfully at Leeson House, where after being introduced to our tutor, we were taken on a walk across the fields to Dancing Ledge and back. Whilst on the walk, we were taken back in time with stories of things that happened in the past, locally.
When we got back to the centre, we prepared our rooms and had dinner before doing some animal tracking activities in the classroom. To finish the evening, we chilled with our class book before getting tucked up into bed.
The children and adults are suitably worn out and I'm sure everyone will sleep well tonight.
Year 4 Camp

I really enjoyed the tunnelling the best. It was challenging and fun. I enjoyed it because there was different routes and levels of difficulty. The food was good because it was really tasty and I really like the fish and chips. We had loads of time to play football and to chill in the tents. The tents were quite big and pretty comfortable to sleep in, but they did get hot!

Camp was really fun. My favourite bit was when we went to WOEC and did paddleboarding. We got to jump off the paddleboard and some people got to do front flips. At first, I felt nervous and was a bit scared to jump off, but afterwards I felt proud. Some stuff was really challenging but it was fun. Sleeping in a tent was good but the first night was very cold! I was very excited to sleep in a tent and liked who I was sharing with. I would definitely do it again, but hopefully next time without any ants!
Advent Trip to the Church

On the 1st December we took a trip to the church, through the snow, as part of advent. We looked at Peace, Joy, Love and Hope.
To help us think about hope we panted some mustard seeds; when thinking about peace we went to the side-chapel, listened to some calming music, looked at the candles and thought about what peace meant to us. We wrote prayers to God on some heart shaped pieces of paper and hung them on the Christmas tree to help us reflect on God's love. Lastly, we acted out the story of the birth of Jesus to think about the joy that came from this day.
