STEM Week 2024
This week year 3 have had a great time as part of STEM Week. On Monday, Kim came in to talk about her rabbits, including how we should look after them and what they like and dislike. On Tuesday, we really enjoyed a pond dipping session, where we loved finding and watching a range of newts, tadpoles, frogs and other pond like. Then on Thursday, we had a fabulous time learning more about forces and experiencing some fun science experiments. The children will have lots to talk about.
As part of our Remembrance Day commemorations, we looked at the book Where the Poppies Grow Now Grow and made our own poppies which were then added to our Remembrance display as shown in the picture.
During our rocks topic, we spent some time testing hardness, durability and how waterproof different types of rocks were.

Year 3 had an amazing time visiting Charmouth beach as part of our Rocks and Stone Age topic. We enjoyed learning about different fossils with the wardens from the Charmouth Heritage and Coastal Centre, before spending time on the beach searching for fossils. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
